Smile #11: KINDNESS

This was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #262

You know:
it's the touch of your hand
on my back
it's the stretch of your lips
towards my glance
it's the soft way you speak
to my face
it's the cash that you give
in some private place

that makes me smile and weep
causes my heart to leap
and assures me to sleep
knowing that you are a kind soul
with a heart made of gold.

You know:
it's the quick way you serve
me when I need help
it's the love that you gave
while I was burning in hell
it's the sacrifice you made
when I was hungry
it's the nice things you did
for me and my family

that makes me  smile and say
don't worry everything's okay
that there are nice people in this age
with hearts so good and tame

I will never forget love
I will never forget kindness
I am sorry for my wrongs
I wish you the best.

Smile #10: IMAGINATION

This was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #261

*****

My favorite game in all the universe
is the one where your mind pictures
all these sceneries and all these wonders
that only in the brain can they occur.

And I just smile!

Of course, some of these mental figments
have been realized by people past and present
but most just stay waiting to happen
maybe in the next 5 years or ten

And I just smile!

What makes me smile when I imagine
is the way I am taken to a perfect location
or the way I meet someone impeccable
or the way I achieve something remarkable

And I just smile!

My greatest dream is to live a happy life
Through the obstacles that stand at the sides
My greatest wish is to enjoy my life
To be stress-free and have peace of mind

And I just smile!

One step to using my vast imagination
is to create a story drawn from experience
and fill it with all the elements
of a good book with merit and substance.

Smile #9: FREEDOM

When I was born
I was given rights:
to life, to liberty, to the pursuit of happiness.
Yes...
To sum these up:
Freedom.

No one is the boss of me.
I can be all I can be.
(Malcolm in the Middle and the U.S. Army)

So sing and shout
Let it all out:
I'm free as a bird
I'm free to express myself and be absurd

In other countries
No one is free
In other countries
No one can stop me!

When I was born
I became free of my mom
When I grew up
I became free of my mom
To be free is to be out
To be free is to be loud.

And I say thank you America
And I praise you America
Land of the free
and Home of the brave.
so let's celebrate!

When I was born
I was naturally given three rights:
Life,
Liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness.
To sum it all up:
Freedom.

Only in America.

I'm happy.
