Smile #19: HEAL YOUR HEART

This was written for Poets United's Midweek Motif :

Heal your heart
with my poem of soothing
words, my uplifting art,
my blog of smiles, heal your heart
with my world of sunshine.

Bless your heart
with my words of music,
music so humble, full of spirit,
as gentle and hearty and thick
so you will feel good inside.

Open your heart
to the opportunities galore
that are flowing more and more
into your mind and heart's doors.
Open your heart and you will find...

Love,
Direction.
Solutions,
Companions,
Success

and these shall make you smile.
Make you recover,
Make you jump a mile,
Make you discover....

Bliss.

Smile #18: NETFLIX

This was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #271

I just ordered for myself
a monthly plan of Netflix
It's my treat to myself
to find out what's in/now/next

I smile because this is the future
I smile because this is my pleasure

This is definitely the season
for a horror movie marathon
This is definitely a good reason
to sleep with the lights on!

I smile because I love twists
I smile because I love risks

This is definitely the option
I needed for my depression
This is definitely the medication
I needed for motivation.

I smile because of this notion
I smile because of the inspiration

I am glad it is not expensive
because I'm out of dollars and cents
I know I won't be wasting my life
this is just for my leisure times.

I smile because I love movies
I smile because I love stories.

Smile #17: LET MY SONG BE DELICATE

this was written for Poets United's Midweek Motif:

Let my song be delicate
a ballad for the less fortunate
let it be heard in the halls and rooms
that hold the homeless and the abused

let it calm a hungry child's tears
let it stop a battered woman's fears
Let my song be delicate
may it help the mentally ill get some rest.

Let my song be heard by Kings and Queens
let it bring some nations to peace
a tune crafted from birds and infants
let it bring justice to those who are innocent.

Let my song be hard to forget
let it spin in the air and cause happiness
may it inspire the sad, the meek, and the low
to rise up and succeed wherever they go

Let my song be delicate
a midtempo for those with illness
let it echo across the mountains and fields
so that the world will be salved and healed.

and I, in my place in the basement
will smile and dance in rejoicement.

Smile #16: WHEN BEAUTY FADES (A NEW BEAUTY IS MADE)

This poem was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #269

When beauty fades
a new beauty is made...

The autumn scene
is a work of dreams
with leaves falling from trees
a slight chill in the breeze

Lazy and sleepy
my eyes are heavy

The autumn scene
is likely hoodies and jeans
with football on tv
and candies on Halloween

Dark and sweet
decaying little treats

The autumn scene
is a reunion of families
the winter's just a tease
time for a Thanksgiving feast

Smiles and beauty
time for good memories

Smile #15: SAVIOUR

This was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #268

When the world gets too crazy
and there's no one to talk to
I just go to the backyard
and think of you.

When the noise of the television
becomes too loud
and my mind is spinning around and around
I just go to the backyard
and gaze at the stars.

It's in the backyard
I am not too hard
on myself on myself

When the brain is too much
and my family's out of touch
I just go to the backyard
and look out for your star.

When there's a lot of hurt
that I become so disturbed
with my mind all alert
I just go to the backyard
and tend to my scars.

There I say a word
or two or four or more
to my listening Lord
to heal my wounds and sores

It's in this place
I can feel the embrace
of the one who loves me always.

And my tears turn to joy
And I no longer cry
And I begin to smile
And see through the night.

There you are Jesus...
