Smile #17: LET MY SONG BE DELICATE

this was written for Poets United's Midweek Motif:

Let my song be delicate
a ballad for the less fortunate
let it be heard in the halls and rooms
that hold the homeless and the abused

let it calm a hungry child's tears
let it stop a battered woman's fears
Let my song be delicate
may it help the mentally ill get some rest.

Let my song be heard by Kings and Queens
let it bring some nations to peace
a tune crafted from birds and infants
let it bring justice to those who are innocent.

Let my song be hard to forget
let it spin in the air and cause happiness
may it inspire the sad, the meek, and the low
to rise up and succeed wherever they go

Let my song be delicate
a midtempo for those with illness
let it echo across the mountains and fields
so that the world will be salved and healed.

and I, in my place in the basement
will smile and dance in rejoicement.

The powers that be refused to hear. One could not possibly be happy seeing hardships and sufferings while sitting in the basement. Very true James!
