Smile #20: CHINESE NIGHT-OUT

This was written for Poets United's Poetry Pantry #272

What would happen
one evening
on a day of the weekend
Saturday or Sunday?

Craving Chinese
their spicy cuisine
made with pork,
chicken, or beef
looking good on
a porcelain plate.

Brother offers
to treat me and mother
for dinner
at Chinese place.

Lovely night
Very nice
raining outside
short drive.
heart so tamed.

Waitress happy
Clerks happy
Everyone laughing
Night of memories.
Feast away...

Tasty meal
a great deal
made me feel
warm and thrilled
our smiles were real.
Happy for days!
