An Erotic and Eventful Fantasy for Your Valentine’s Day

Are you looking for a steamy read for these few days leading up to Valentine’s Day?  Or perhaps are you hungry for a book that fuses adult situations with fantasy and adventure?  Well, let me introduce you to newcomer author Amy Knickerbocker’s Bound by Fate which is a book from her forthcoming The Strong series.  In this sexy, lustful tale of witches, vampires, and supernatural beings called daemons, a future king (daemon) by the name of Toran is depressed by an ancient prophecy that prevents him from fulfilling his desires for a pure-blooded faine (a type of vampire) called Liv that he captures from our world’s Las Vegas.  Toran is supposed to marry his own kind, a female daemon, and only needs the faine for her special mothering skills to raise their sons when they are born.  He has a cousin by the name of Merus (another daemon) who is loyal and protective of him who has his own sights set on Liv’s best friend Mandy (a witch).  Toran and Merus are natives of Venn Dom, a realm exclusively for their kind (known as Vimora daemons) that is “parallel to our world’s Scottish Highlands.”  There are other characters and subplots in this book but the aforementioned are the mains.

I guess this book has something for everyone if male readers can stomach the hot, hot, hot love scenes…lol.  There is soft violence that ensues between Toran, Merus, and their fellow male characters.  Personally, I find the story is pretty much for the romance crowd, especially erotic/paranormal bookworms out there as there is no filter to the descriptions and the language used throughout.  In all honesty, this book is definitely “Unrated” and if you read it with Hershey’s kisses and wine over Enya’s music streamed on Spotify or Pandora, the experience will be a dreamy and romantic one at best.  This is why I suggest you read it alternately with your man, or woman, on Valentine’s Day night with the both of you as scantily dressed as possible making room for some passion later on…lol.

So what are you waiting for?  Do you want to find out what will happen to Toran, will he bed the faine and dispose of his betrothed?  Will the faine stop the wedding and put up a catfight with Toran’s fiancée?  Will the witch and Merus eventually come together by the end?  Oh and will the prophecy be realized or ignored?   I guess you will have to buy the book to spice up your February 14 because Knickerbocker is one talented writer in her genre!

Book Review #12: HOW TO NOT BE AN IDIOT WHEN YOU GET DIVORCED by JAESON D. RAU

Interesting Take on How to Proceed After Getting a Divorce

Jaeson D. Rau is not some licensed or certified expert on the aftermath of a divorce and all that.  Nope.  He’s just a normal divorce’ who wants to tell his fellow divorce’s about the losses and pains a man goes through, as well as his children, when you the husband and father, divorces your wife.  Here’s a little breakdown of what this novella entails:

·         Health: yes, your health is important.  And that means watching what you eat and maintaining your weight…
·         Kids should be your #1 priority: Do keep in mind that your kids suffer the most during a divorce, not just you and/or your spouse.
·         Why now?  Please get over your dilemma about why you went through a divorce and blaming your spouse.  Stop that and move on!

There are many other informative chapters of this book but I won’t spoil the fun for you.  Just take it from Mr. Rau, you are the only key to your own happiness as well as your kids’ too.  You need to step up and stop a cycle that you may have started or that you are following from men and women before you.  Mr. Rau stresses the importance of a father figure in a child’s life and how when that is missing a whole lot of problems may occur like teen pregnancy, drugs, suicide, etc.

So when you’re looking for help and or guidance after you’ve just gone through a divorce, don’t think twice about getting this book.  It is a sincere, short read written in a comprehensible way that will serve as your go-to companion in your separation dilemma.  As Mr. Rau’s words go: “I wrote this book because we need to start a conversation…and that conversation needs to be honest and open about how truly detrimental divorce is on our current society, future society, and the ecosystem,” he is absolutely correct.  We need to know how to treat divorce and its consequences because it’s been proven to cause a lot of damage to society and for generations to come.

Book Review #11: SECRETS REVEALED (BOOK TWO IN THE SECRETS SERIES) by T L HENRY

Hilarious and Mysterious

Laurel Mahone has it all: looks, a job, friends, her own apartment and car, and a loving family.  Her daily involves working as an office administrator for a welding company called Murphy’s Shipyard where her boss is a womanizing creep named Michael, and of course getting visits here and there from her loving but kitchen-challenged aunt Alish.  Beneath all this are Laurel’s bittersweet memories of her older brother Cathal who died years before when she was a teenager.  At night, Laurel encounters nightmares in her sleep where she seems to come across a mysterious man with dark hair.  Awake, she sees white cars everywhere she goes…

This book is the second part in a series known as the Secrets Series.  In its dedication section, its author T L Henry warns her readers that may their secrets never be revealed…spooky yeah?  Haha.  It is a mixture between a chick-lit and a mystery.  You will have moments where you laugh out loud while in the midst of reading it because it just is so funny especially when Laurel’s hairdresser is a flamboyant dude named Jamie and her two best friends Eva and Jade are airheaded and feisty as ever.  Laurel is a virgin and is waiting for the right man to come along and claim it.  Oh and by the way, this book is set in Belfast, Ireland so it was quite an interesting book to read finding out that over there, there is something called a flat (apartment) and cars are referred to as autos.  Awesome isn’t it?

I guess if you are looking for something to squash your boredom and make you laugh all the way to the end, this is the book for that.  I read it in two days and could not put it down because it is fast-paced, very hilarious, and exciting all in one.  There are plenty of steamy scenes throughout, and there is one aspect that I linked to the author’s day job as an dental hygienist.  I will leave it up to you to find out so in the meantime, order it from on here, grab a box of tissues (to wipe your eyes from the laughs) and have a great winter!
