Facebook, Social, Social Network, Social Media

Right now I'm fortunate
for a family of friends
I socialize with on the net
daily almost with no end

They be dropping in to say hi
with stickers, positive lines
Joking with each other
day and night
Then say goodbye until next time

Right now I'm fortunate
to stay connected
with peeps in Australia, New Zealand
who I've never met

Right now I'm fortunate
to have peeps to talk with
a new normal, this way to chat
without it I'd be lonely, a hermit

And I'm thankful
though it's not November yet
I'm grateful for my Facebook family
I've been fortunate

And I'm thankful
so much it's magical
that it's so accessible
How fortunate.

  1. indeed, luv the internet friendships

    Have a good Sunday

    much love...

  2. I know the feeling, James..........the internet connects us with people far and wide. I am so grateful for it, too. It is always nice to see you writing. Smiles.

  3. Indeed... it's great to have all those friends... here is one hailing you from Sweden.

  4. Cyberland gives us the wonderful ability to connect with friends all over the globe. Your words reflect it so well. Thank you!

  5. Cyberland is a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded folks from all over the globe. Well written and so true!

  6. Internet friendships have definitely made a lot of difference in many of our worlds. I am glad you have such great connections...I think you have expressed the thoughts of many people, James!

  7. You sound like a grateful and happy person.

  8. I, too, feel rather fortunate... all the way from New York City. This is lovely, and true. Love the liveliness of the tone.

  9. Like the November reference...we must be thankful all year round for the invisible connections over the internet. They do make a difference.

  10. Yes, this peep from Australia is thankful for it too! (But I don't know hat happens in November. ???)

    1. hi Rosemary, in the USA and its territories, Thanksgiving is celebrated every third Thursday of November. It is a day of giving thanks for all the blessings one has received over the year. Hope that answers your question. It's a great question, indeed. Much love!

  11. Good to hear :) wish you a most prosperous year.

  12. We hear so much about the negative aspects of social media, it's nice to be reminded that it is a gift.

  13. The connections possible because of the internet have definitely made a difference; the world seems smaller and more close-knit somehow as a result.
